Rwanda is a beautiful country, but are plagued with an extensive history of genocide which left the country's with thousands of orphans. These innocent children were born into this world without a choice to choose from. They were left to survive on themselves, lacking the basic necessities of a normal lifestyle. Without the presence of parent, these children lack the fundamental experiences of love and care as in a healthy family
The mission for this project is to design a prototype Institution for an orphanage in rural Rwanda. The objectives are to provide housing and physical needs as well as spiritual needs for the orphans. These objectives can be achieved by promoting education and technical training in furniture design and metal working. In tangent to the technical training facility, this institution will be aiming to generates income to support itself by selling the products produced at the institution to the local community.
This project will need initial financial support to start up. However, as the institution can manage to make enough income from the products produced from its furniture and metal work shop, they will be able to be self sufficient economically.
