In 1994, a detrimental phenomena has plaqued Rwanda and claimed the lives of approximating of about one million people. This event alone has placed Rwanda on the top of the world's orphanage list. The genocide of 1994 has left close to a million kids orphaned. Due to a limited amount of aids, only a small fraction of these orphans were able to be placed in a foster home. Unfortunately many are still left to survive on themselves as they scavenge through the streets.
